About Al-Khair Academy

An online academy for home-schooled children and their families: a thorough academic curriculum with genuine Islamic Studies, Quran and Arabic, taught live by passionate teachers.

Our story

Al-Khair Academy (Fromyourtutor) was founded in 2021. It started as a small personal platform: we helped individual learners study the Islamic and academic subjects they wanted to learn at home. The demand grew, and so did we.

Today our academic programme runs from preschool to Grade 4, from our Tiny Tots class upwards, and we add further grades as we grow. Alongside the academy we offer online counselling through AMCC and a range of video courses.

Mission and vision

Our mission

Our goal is to support and nurture the natural desire in children, and in ourselves, to be life-long learners until we meet our Lord. We are committed to the families we serve, and support and encourage them through the services we provide.

Our vision

A community where every child feels loved, respected and encouraged to develop to their fullest potential. That is why we focus on a stimulating early Islamic tarbiyya and child-care experience that promotes each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.

Our curriculum

We use the American curriculum as our base, but our lessons are developed from it and inspired by Islamic values rather than taken from a set book. Islamic Studies, Quran and Arabic are part of every week, not an add-on.

The focus is on skill development: a structured learning programme that gives home-schooled children the support and routine they need.

How live classes work

  1. Live on Zoom

Every class is a live session with a teacher, so children learn safely and conveniently from home.

  2. Pitched to every child

Classes are small groups, not one-to-one, but teachers assess each child and adapt to their level and abilities.

  3. Homework that motivates

After class, children get traditional homework and creative assignments. Parents help make sure it gets done.

  4. We listen

Our admins welcome feedback, so classes stay as beneficial and enjoyable as possible for your child.
